The Technology Agency of the Czech Republic (TACR) is the main provider of state funding for research and innovation. Its objective is to connect together and promote cooperation between research organisations and business to ensure that the results of applied research find their use in practice. Funded projects generate unique products, patents and other outputs that help quickly apply the results of research in practice. TACR is a member of the Taftie European network of innovation agencies which gives us the opportunity to share experience and information with partner agencies that also support research, development and innovations in various parts of the world.

Transport infrastructure permeability for fauna as a prerequisite for safe and sustainable transport

Main goal of the project is to ensure sustainability of transport by lowering its effect on landscape fragmentation together with increasing traffic safety due to improved permeability of transport infrastructure for wildlife. More specifically, the project deals with: (1) creating and implementing evaluation of deterrents and setting principles for their use based on testing selected types of deterrents, (2) creating and establishing a methodology regarding evaluation of effectiveness of fauna passages, (3) presenting information about green bridges by means of specialized map and a public database of green bridges with evaluation of their effectivity, (4) ensuring part of inputs for the update of the TP 180 regulation, (5) presenting project results by means of seminars and articles. (CK03000086).

Center for Landscape and Biodiversity

Understanding the current development of nature and landscape, evaluating current trends in changing ecosystems or revealing the spatial distribution of biodiversity and threatening factors - these are the main research tasks that the DivLand project focuses on. As a part of their work, individual teams will design monitoring systems, prepare sets of evaluation indicators and analyze existing and newly created databases of Czech landscape, its ecosystems and biodiversity. The project will culminate in a proposal for strategic measures to be taken for sustainable landscape management, ecosystem management and biodiversity protection in the context of climate change (SS02030018).

Water systems and water management in the Czech Republic in conditions of climate change

The aim of the project is, through the activities of the Water Research Centre, to support better knowledge in the areas of future water requirements in terms of climate change and induced changes in society; comparison of future water requirements with the amount of available water and identification of water deficit areas; the impact of climate change on ecosystems and continued anthropogenic effects on aquatic environments; inputs, quantities, paths and the effects of pollution in current indicators causing of not reaching of good water status; reducing the amount and level of pollution in industrial wastewater (SS02030027).
